Today everyone is talking about 4k. From the new iphones to TVs. Everyone is claiming 4k but is 4k truly what you are getting.

The new smart phone all claim they can view videos in 4k which they can but its your streaming service streaming in 4k. If you dont know most videos on youtube and facebook dont stream in 4k. Facebook streaming at 780p the most and youtube, even though you can stream 4k videos, but they are limited to a few subscribers. You need a special account to stream in full 4k. So why all the hype?

Well its a way for people to sell their product. Like Netflix, yes you can stream in 4k but it will cost you more just like the rest of the streaming services that you want watch in 4k. Also its a way for videographers to charge you the most for your project. Nine out of Ten times your video or project will not stream in 4k. Most streaming service do no use 4k. Most moves even though they may record in 4k but after post editing becomes 1080p.

So next time someone tells your their video or production is in 4k ask them how much more they paid for that and was it worth it to stream in 1080p or 720p platforms.
